Free Talk and Guided Meditation
Meditation and the Art of Happiness
with Kadam Morten
Monday Sept. 13, 7 - 9 PM (free)
At New York New Church, 114 East 35th Street
Within our mind lies an extraordinary potential for inner peace and happiness. Through the simple practice of meditation we can learn to access that potential. In meditation we learn to let go of the agitated states of mind, such as anger, that produce unhappiness, and instead to cultivate peaceful, creative minds such as love, acceptance, wisdom and joy. Whats more we learn to transform our day-today experiences, especially our conflicts and problems, into opportunities for developing these joyful minds. In this way we learn the art of happiness and the special skill of creating a joyful life.
This free talk will include two guided meditations and a chance to ask questions. Pre-registration not nessesary. Everyone is welcome.

Meditation and the Art of Happiness
In this course we will explore further the practice of meditation and the training in happiness. Through simple meditation practices that we can easily incorporate into our busy schedules we get to know the causes of happiness within our own mind. Deepening our familiarity with this experience of happiness gives us the inner fleibiltiy to creatively transform our lives. We learn how to use our problems and conflicts as the raw materials of our spiritual training. By learning to skillfully to let go of agitated minds like anger, our conflicts actually empower us in our practice. In this way we learn the art of happiness a skill which will sustain us in every facet of our life.
