Introduction to Buddhist Meditation

Transforming Anger and Conflict

Weds, April 14 & 21; 6:30 – 8:00 pm ($30 per series)

Imagine being able to respond skillfully to problems and conflicts with a peaceful, flexible, solution-oriented mind -- free from anger, repression or fear. Participants will learn to apply Buddha`s teachings on anger. By understanding the nature and causes of anger, we can begin to transform problems and conflicts into opportunities for personal growth. The class consists of instruction, guided meditations and discussion. The mind training methods taught in this course include meditation and meditation break exercises; these are tried-and- tested methods which can be practiced by anyone, regardless of education or background.

Healing Relationships Through Love

Weds, May 12 & 19; 6:30 – 8:00 pm ($30 per series)

Buddha stressed the importance of healing our relationships with partners, family, and friends. In this course we will learn special mind-training methods for developing a love that accepts the faults we see in others. This love will allow us to let go of our resentments and disappointments and to instead develop greater acceptance toward those who are closest to us. Such a love will give us authentic confidence in our heart's potential and will become the basis for developing a universal love for the family of all living beings. The class consists of instruction, guided meditations and discussion
